Budd Baer, Washington PA, since 1975
One family, a few different ways of helping
The Baer family has been in the car business since 1946. Budd Baer Inc opened in Washington in 1975, and today that family includes our Subaru, Buick GMC, Mazda and Collision Center stores.
Budd Baer Cares is ours. It is the sponsorships and donations you can apply for right here, funded by the group and decided by our team.
Budd Baer Subaru also takes part in the Subaru Love Promise, which is Subaru of America's own community program. Different calendar, different national partners, its own home on our Subaru site. Same family, same neighbors.
Our stores
Budd Baer Subaru
Our Subaru store, and the one that takes part in the Subaru Love Promise alongside Budd Baer Cares.
Budd Baer Buick GMC
Buick and GMC, sales and service, on Murtland Avenue.
Budd Baer Mazda
Our Mazda store. Same family, same giving program.
Budd Baer Collision Center
Our body shop, and the place the YMCA Princesses painted their boats.
The Subaru Love Promise
Budd Baer Subaru takes part in the Subaru Love Promise, and in 2025 Subaru of America recognized us nationally for it.
Through it our Subaru store works with national partners across the year — people in urgent need, cancer patients, classrooms, pets, the environment — plus our own partners here in Washington County.
It runs on Subaru's calendar rather than ours, and it lives over on our Subaru site. That is also where Subaru publishes our Love Promise stories.
The Subaru Love Promise and its initiatives are programs of Subaru of America, Inc. Budd Baer Subaru takes part in them as a Subaru retailer.
Our Share the Love hometown charity
Always B Smiling
To create a community where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive, contribute and be valued.
Every year Share the Love lets each Subaru retailer pick a hometown charity alongside the national ones. Ours is Always B Smiling.
Dean and Kristin Huibregtse started it in 2020 as a living legacy of their son Bennett, whose smile is now all over everything the organization does. They run inclusive programs for children and young adults with disabilities and health challenges, and for their families — and they do not charge the families a dime.
B Active
Adaptive bike rides and creative arts that promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
B Supported
Creating smiles for children during a hospital stay.
B Independent
Building the independent life skills that open doors later on.
B Together
Events where participants can meet and spend time with their peers.
How we turn up
- Share the Love, November into January Every customer who buys or leases a new Subaru during the event picks a charity, and Always B Smiling is on our list. Subaru gives on the buyer's behalf and we add to it for every vehicle, so the total grows with every car that leaves the lot.
- Miles for Smiles, every summer Their 5K walk, run or roll at Bennett Park, held on the anniversary of Bennett's passing. There is a 116-yard \u201cB\u201d Smiling dash for the little ones and food afterward. Our people walk it.
- B Together Night We have been a VIP sponsor of their annual fundraiser, and our staff show up for the night itself, not just the check.
How Share the Love actually works
The Subaru Share the Love Event runs from late November into early January. Subaru picks the exact dates each year.
Here is the part worth knowing: during the event, every customer who buys or leases a new Subaru chooses which charity their purchase supports. Subaru of America donates on their behalf. Then Budd Baer Subaru adds a hometown donation on top of that for every vehicle, and there are further donations for qualifying service visits during the window.
So the check handed over at the end of it was really written by everybody who bought a car here that winter.
Subaru Share the Love® is a program of Subaru of America, Inc. Donation amounts and dates are set by Subaru each year.
